Design: How to make Toolberry’s dashboard your own?

A walk through everything you can already customize today, and what full re-branding looks like when you need it.

A walk through everything you can already customize today, and what full re-branding looks like when you need it.

Yes, you can make ToolBerry look and work like your business, not somebody else's template. Reorder and hide dashboard cards, switch between list and table view for each one, choose which columns show up in your tables, run the app in your language, switch between light and dark, turn modules on or off, and set up your own job, proposal, and invoice stages. None of it requires a support ticket.

Miguel runs a landscaping crew of six. His dashboard doesn't look like a solo plumber's, and it shouldn't. He keeps Jobs and Time Tracking pinned to the top, hides the invoicing card his office admin handles instead, and switches his crew's job list to table view so he can scan five schedules at once instead of scrolling through cards.

What can you customize without talking to anyone?

  • Dashboard cards. Drag to reorder, toggle any card on or off, and pick Auto, List, or Table view for each one individually. The choice is saved per card, per person.
  • Table columns. Show or hide columns and drag them into the order that matches how you actually read a job list.
  • Language. ToolBerry runs in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French today, with more added as the team needs them.
  • Light, dark, or auto. Switch the whole app's appearance in one tap. This is different from full color re-theming, more on that below.
  • Modules. Turn features on or off from Settings so your workspace only shows what your business actually uses.
  • Job, proposal, and invoice settings. Jobs get the most depth here: types, statuses, phases, and durations are all yours to set. Proposals and invoices are simpler, both let you customize their stages.
  • Record and entity labels, and custom fields. There's also room to adjust how records and entities are labeled, and to add your own custom fields.

None of this needs a meeting with anyone. It's yours to change today.

What about the proposals and invoices you send out?

Every proposal and invoice ToolBerry generates comes from a print template, and that template is yours to shape too. Add your logo, business name, address, phone number, and email. Set your primary and accent colors, your footer text, and even the filename pattern the PDF gets saved under. Pick Letter or A4, and set the font size.

If you run more than one division, or a few subsidiaries under one roof, you're not stuck with a single look for all of them. ToolBerry supports multiple print templates, so each one can carry its own name, its own branding, and its own defaults, set once, then just picked when you send.

Can you re-theme the whole app, colors and all?

Switching between light, dark, and auto is yours to do any time, no help needed. Changing the actual color palette, your brand's own colors across the entire app, is different. Not on your own, not yet. Full brand theming is something we set up together with Pro customers in a conversation, then ship as a customization to your workspace.

That's a deliberate choice, not a limitation we're pretending isn't there. Getting a color palette right means understanding contrast and accessibility, and we don't expect every plumber, electrician, or landscaper on ToolBerry to also be a color theorist. So for now, full re-theming comes with us in the room, not a slider you drag on your own.

We're also adding the ability to upload your own logo directly into the app, not just onto your PDFs, so your team sees your brand every time they open ToolBerry, not only when a client does. It's not live yet, but it's close.

How do you start?

  1. From your dashboard, open the card menu to reorder, hide, or change the view mode of any card.
  2. In any table, open the ··· menu to manage which columns show and in what order.
  3. Tap your profile menu to switch language or flip between light, dark, and auto.
  4. Go to Settings to turn modules on or off, and to set up job, proposal, and invoice stages.
  5. Open a Proposal or Invoice preview and choose Customize Print Template to add your branding.

Most of this takes less than five minutes, and none of it needs to wait on anyone.
