Quick verdict

WEX FSM, the product that used to be Payzer, is built around getting paid. Card processing, consumer financing from several lenders and maintenance plans that bill on their own are its real strengths, and HVAC shops that sell a lot of financed replacements get a lot out of it. The catch is how you pay for it. The free plan covers payments only, and only if you run over $25,000 a month through them. Scheduling, dispatch and invoicing are in Enterprise and Unlimited, and every plan on their pricing page starts with Get a demo. ToolBerry you can download and run a real job with today, with no volume minimum and no sales call.

Why owners try ToolBerry alongside WEX FSM

Free, without a volume target

WEX FSM's free plan is real, but it comes with a condition: run over $25,000 a month in card or financing volume through them, or pay $69 a month. And that plan is payments only, with no scheduling or invoicing. The ToolBerry app is free with no minimum, and scheduling, proposals, invoices and job costing are in it from day one.

You can start without a demo

To get scheduling, dispatch and invoicing from WEX FSM you need Enterprise or Unlimited, and every plan on their pricing page, even the free one, starts with Get a demo. With ToolBerry you download the app, add a customer and run a real job the same day. Nobody has to sit through a call to find out if it works on their own jobs.

Set up for your trade on day one

ToolBerry comes with ready-made setups for nine trades plus a general one, from HVAC and plumbing to landscaping, housekeeping, pest control and generator service. Job checklists, asset types and real equipment models are already in, so you start with an app that already knows your work.

Where WEX FSM is strong

Credit where it is due. WEX FSM is very good at getting contractors paid. Card processing, ACH, mobile check deposit and consumer financing from several lenders are all in one place, and the financing sits right inside the proposal, which helps close big replacement jobs. Maintenance plans can run on recurring payments, with automated service reminders. It is backed by WEX, a large payments company, and says more than 35,000 contractors use it. If financed HVAC replacements are most of your revenue, WEX FSM is built for that and worth a serious look.

Pricing, plainly

ToolBerry

The ToolBerry app is free. No card, no trial clock and no volume minimum, and it is the full app rather than a demo. It runs on your own device, so it is one person's app. ToolBerry Pro is the paid upgrade that puts a crew on one shared workspace, priced per company, so hiring does not raise the bill.

WEX FSM

WEX FSM publishes one price. Payment Options is free if you run over $25,000 a month in card or financing volume through them, and $69 a month if you run less. It covers payments: card and check processing, mobile readers, financing, ACH and recurring payments. Enterprise, which adds scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, job costing, pricebooks, proposals and maintenance plans, and Unlimited, which adds unlimited users, have no published price, and every plan on the page, the free one included, starts with Get a demo. There are no setup fees. Their FAQ says the QuickBooks, Azuga GPS, Profit Rhino, Pricebook Digital and Advanced Reporting integrations carry an additional fee, although Enterprise lists QuickBooks sync as part of the plan. Card processing rates are not published (wexfsm.com/pricing, read September 2026).

Prices can change, so check their site for the current numbers.
