What moves to ToolBerry today

Moves today

  • Your clients, as ToolBerry customers
  • Their addresses, as sites you can schedule work at
  • Their contact people, with phone numbers and email addresses

Does not move yet

  • Job history, with its photos, documents and signatures
  • Invoices and payments
  • Quotes

ToolBerry cannot import job, invoice or quote history yet. Export those files from the Migration Tool anyway, and keep them safe before February 28, 2027. Once Verizon deletes your data, nobody can get it back.

How to move your clients, step by step

You need an admin login for Connect Work and a computer with a spreadsheet app. You import the same Clients file three times: once for customers, once for sites and once for contacts.

  1. Export your clients from Verizon

Sign in to Connect Work as an account admin and open the Migration Tool. Choose the Clients export and the CSV format. Clients is a general export, so there is no date range to pick. Downloads expire three weeks after the export finishes.

  2. Export everything else, and keep it

In the same tool, export Jobs, Invoices and Quotes, with attachments. Each export covers at most two years, so repeat it for older years. Save the files somewhere safe, such as your computer and a cloud drive.

  3. Install ToolBerry

Download the free app on your phone or tablet, or open the web app on your computer. There is no account to create.

  4. Import your customers

Open Customers, tap Import (on an empty list, "Import a file") and choose "CSV or Excel file". Pick the Clients file. ToolBerry matches some columns on its own. Match the rest with the table below, and leave the columns you do not need unmatched.

  5. Check the rows, then import

ToolBerry checks every row before it saves anything. Each row shows as ready, to check, a duplicate, or blocked with the reason. Import the ready rows. Download the blocked rows as a CSV, fix them in your spreadsheet, and import that file again.

  6. Add a Site Name column

Each site needs a name, and one column fills only one field. In your spreadsheet, add a column called Site Name, copy the Client Name column into it, and save the file as CSV again.

  7. Import your sites

Open Sites and import the file with the new column. Match Client Name to Customer, so each site links to its customer, and Site Name to Name. Then match the address columns.

  8. Import your contacts

Open Contacts and import the same file again. Match Client Name to Customer, then the main contact's first and last name. Phone and Email match on their own: they are the client's main phone and email.

Use this table in the matching step of each import.

Verizon does not publish the columns of its Clients export. The Verizon names in this table come from its accounting field lists and are examples until we confirm them with a real export. Match by meaning.

If a row has no country, ToolBerry fills in your business's country. Phone numbers import best with the country code, for example +1 202 555 0100.
