ToolBerry Pro vs FieldEdge

FieldEdge is a long-established contractor platform with deep QuickBooks Desktop lineage, flat-rate pricebooks and advanced service agreements. Two things separate it from ToolBerry Pro sharply: its plans cap how many mobile app licenses you get, and its own Future Features page still lists offline mode as in rolling development.

Quick verdict

FieldEdge earns its place with established contractors, especially anyone running QuickBooks Desktop, and its service agreement and flat-rate pricebook depth is real. The two things to check before you commit are the mobile license caps built into the plans, two on Select, four on Premier, six on Elite, and the fact that FieldEdge's own Future Features page lists offline mode as "Rolling Development" rather than shipped. ToolBerry Pro puts every crew member on the app at no extra cost, and offline is how the product has always worked.

The short version

Three differences a feature table can't show

Priced per business, not per seat

One price covers your whole crew. Hiring tech number 11 changes your schedule, not your software bill. Service Fusion is the one vendor here that does the same, and their page says so.

Offline everywhere, not just on the phone

Several of these products have real offline in their mobile app. What none of them has is the office: ToolBerry runs the same local database on desktop too, so a dropped connection at the shop is as harmless as a basement with no bars.

Free forever underneath, no trial clock

Not one of the six has a free tier. ToolBerry Free is a full product your crew can run real jobs on today, and Pro is the layer you add when the team features are worth paying for.

Where ToolBerry Pro is the better fit

Everybody gets the app

FieldEdge plans include a set number of mobile app licenses: two on Select, four on Premier, six on Elite. That turns a hiring question into a plan-upgrade question. ToolBerry Pro is priced per business and every person in your crew gets the full app, so there is no license to ration and no seat to justify.

Offline is not a future feature

FieldEdge lists offline mode under Future Features as rolling development. We are not scoring a point on a roadmap here, it is simply the state of the product as they document it. ToolBerry was built offline-first from the first commit: a real database on the device, every feature, on web and mobile.

You can try it without a sales process

FieldEdge does not offer a free trial, and says so plainly, because they find guided onboarding works better. That is a defensible choice, but it means you evaluate on a demo. Your crew can run real jobs in ToolBerry Free this afternoon, and Pro adds the team layer on top of an app they already know.

Where FieldEdge is stronger

FieldEdge has a decade-plus of contractor-specific depth we simply have not built. Its QuickBooks lineage, Desktop included, is stronger than anything we offer, and we have no accounting sync at all today. Flat-rate pricebooks, advanced service agreements, warehouse inventory management on Elite, outbound call recording and a consumer management portal are all real capabilities aimed at established shops. If you are running QuickBooks Desktop and want software built around that, FieldEdge is the more natural fit.

Schedule a demo

Choose ToolBerry Pro if…

  • You want every crew member on the app, not a rationed number of licenses.
  • Offline has to work today, not when it finishes rolling out.
  • You would rather evaluate software by using it than by watching a demo.
  • Your team runs in more than one language.

Choose FieldEdge if…

  • QuickBooks Desktop is load-bearing in your bookkeeping.
  • Flat-rate pricebooks and advanced service agreements are central to how you sell.
  • You want warehouse inventory and a consumer portal from one established vendor.

Whichever way you go: your crew already knows ToolBerry if they've used the free app, going Pro is a login, not a migration. And the pilot guarantee covers your exit costs if we're wrong for you.

Pricing, plainly

ToolBerry Pro

ToolBerry Pro is priced per business, not per seat, and every crew member gets the full app. Tell us your size and needs and we will send a straight answer within one business day.

FieldEdge

FieldEdge does not publish prices. Select, Premier and Elite require a demo, and the plans differ by feature set and by how many mobile app licenses are included, two, four and six respectively. There is no free trial (fieldedge.com/pricing, read August 2026). We previously quoted a per-user range here from a third-party source and have removed it, because FieldEdge does not publish one.

Ask FieldEdge directly for a current quote. We only publish numbers a vendor publishes themselves.

Switching from FieldEdge

Start by putting the crew members who never got a mobile license onto ToolBerry Free, today, at no cost. That alone tells you something. From there, run one crew on Pro alongside FieldEdge for a few weeks. Be realistic about the accounting side: if QuickBooks Desktop sync is load-bearing for your bookkeeping, that is a real gap on our side and worth solving before you move.
