ToolBerry Pro vs LMN

LMN by Granum is the best known platform in the green industry, and its budget-based estimating is genuinely the reference point everyone else gets measured against. ToolBerry Pro is younger and narrower, and structurally different in three places a growing maintenance company feels: one price for the whole company rather than license bundles, no long-term contract to renew your way out of, and recurring agreements you can pause when the season stops.

Quick verdict

If budget-based estimating with overhead recovery is what you are buying, LMN is the stronger product and we would rather you knew that up front. The two places it will cost you are the license math and the paperwork. Licenses come in fixed bundles, so growing means moving up a tier, and Granum's terms auto-renew for up to a year, require 60 days of written notice to leave, make fees non-refundable, and have you pre-agree to yearly increases of as much as 5%. ToolBerry Pro is one price per company with no long-term contract, and you can pause a maintenance agreement when winter arrives.

The short version

Three differences a feature table can't show

Priced per business, not per seat

One price covers your whole crew. Hiring tech number 11 changes your schedule, not your software bill. Service Fusion is the one vendor here that does the same, and their page says so.

Offline everywhere, not just on the phone

Several of these products have real offline in their mobile app, and some of them are good at it. Where ToolBerry differs is the office: we run the same local database on desktop too, so a dropped connection at the shop is as harmless as a basement with no bars.

A free app underneath, not a trial clock

Jobber and Housecall Pro run 14 day trials, Workiz runs a 7 day one, and FieldEdge, Service Fusion, ServiceTitan and LMN all start with a demo or a quote. None of them publishes a free plan. The free ToolBerry app is a different thing: the whole app, for one person on their own device, with no clock running. Pro is the layer you add when the shared workspace is worth paying for.

Where ToolBerry Pro is the better fit

Hiring stops being a software decision

LMN sells you a fixed number of office and crew licenses, 1 plus 5 on Starter and 3 plus 15 on Professional, and additional licenses cost more. So headcount and software cost are tied together, and outgrowing a bundle means moving up a tier. ToolBerry Pro is one price for the business. The eleventh hire changes your schedule and nothing else, and you never have to decide which crew members are worth a license.

The contract is the part you feel in year two

Read Granum's Terms of Use before you sign. Subscriptions renew on their own unless you give written notice at least 60 days before the term ends, payment obligations are non-cancelable and fees paid are non-refundable, and you agree in advance to an annual increase of up to 5%. ToolBerry Pro has no long-term contract, no auto-renewal trap and no termination fee. If we stop earning it, you leave with your data.

A season that ends, in software that understands that

Maintenance work stops for the winter and starts again in spring. ToolBerry handles that in two places: recurring agreements can be paused, which pulls the visits you have not started off the calendar, and there is no annual software commitment sitting underneath your slow months. LMN's own pricing FAQ used to say plainly that there is no way to pause the account or pay reduced fees in the off season.

Where LMN is stronger

Credit where it is due, and this is not a short list. LMN's budget-based estimating is the reference standard in this industry: it prices work from your real overhead, labor and production rates, and then carries that estimate through to the job, the timesheet and the job costing as one closed loop. Nobody at this price does that better, and we do not do it at all in that form. Greenius adds crew training in English and Spanish, which no other field service vendor bundles. They have been at this since 2009 with more than 3,000 contractors and names like U.S. Lawns behind them. If estimating depth is what decides this for you, LMN is the stronger product today and you should pick it.

Choose ToolBerry Pro if…

  • You are hiring, and you do not want license bundles deciding when you can grow.
  • You want to stay flexible, without an auto-renewal and a 60 day notice window.
  • Your work is seasonal and your software should understand that.
  • You want to try the thing on a real property before anyone signs anything.

Choose LMN if…

  • Budget-based estimating with overhead recovery is the problem you are solving.
  • You want a platform built only for the green industry, not a general field service tool.
  • You want bilingual crew training and the longest track record in the green industry.

Whichever way you go: your crew already knows ToolBerry if they've used the free app, going Pro is a login, not a migration. And the pilot guarantee covers your exit costs if we're wrong for you.

Pricing, plainly

ToolBerry Pro

ToolBerry Pro is priced per business, not per seat. Adding crew never raises the bill. The number depends on your size and needs, and we will send you a straight answer within one business day. There is no onboarding fee, no auto-renewal and no minimum term. Underneath it, the free ToolBerry app stays free for anyone who does not need the team features.

LMN

LMN publishes its prices, which we respect. Starter is $297 a month, aimed at companies under 10 employees, and includes 1 office or crew lead license plus 5 crew member licenses. Professional is $648 a month for 10 employees and up, with 3 plus 15. Enterprise is contact sales and starts at 100 users. All three are quoted after a one-time onboarding fee whose amount is not published, and additional licenses are described only as available for a fee. There is no free plan and no trial (granum.com/lmn/pricing, read September 2026). Professional was $598 as recently as August 2025, and several comparison sites still show that older number.

Prices change. Check their pricing page for the current numbers before you decide.

Switching from LMN

Do not switch on a feature table. Keep LMN running and put ToolBerry on one crew for a few weeks, on your properties and your routes, and compare what actually happens. Check your notice date while you are at it, because Granum wants 60 days of written notice and the agreement renews on its own if you miss it. If your people have used the free ToolBerry app, going Pro is a login rather than a migration.
